Chronology
Tom and Vini are two bohemian mice who hide out on Noah’s Ark. They must use their musical talents to enter a competition and help keep the peace between the animals. Terri the Tiger: I’m Terri.
WHERE ARE YOU?
I’m my wife’s husband. I have to make a peace treaty after the singing competition. Terri the Tiger: [screams] BARUK!
He’s gone again!
Terri the Tiger: Baruk, go to your lioness. I’ve got a wife to catch! Two musical mice, «Vini» and «Tom», are taking a well-deserved nap one afternoon when they hear God ranting a bit about their old friend Noah.
Now, this ship isn’t as sturdy as the one Russell Crowe built in 2014, but after a few shenanigans, the creatures are assembled and the flood is unleashed
He’s had enough of his Earth project and wants to start over, so he tells the man to start building a boat big enough to house two of every creature, then he’ll send down enough rain to wipe the slate clean so he can invite animals from all over (via airmail) while he gets to work building his ark. The flaw in all this meticulous planning is that the menacing lion, backed by his minions, soon intends to plunder the few supplies the ship is carrying before proceeding to an exceptionally fresh all-you-can-eat buffet. Can the intrepid little mice, now joined by «Nina,» do anything to thwart this grand design long enough for the dove of peace to battle the wind and rain in search of land?
Sure, it’s a little derivative and certainly reminded me of «The Lion King» at times, but it’s harmless family fun that will be fine to leave the kids in front of the TV at Christmas
There’s nothing remotely religious about this story, it’s simply a gentle animation that characterizes some jungle creatures and uses some forgettable musical numbers to deliver a sort of «Ark’s Got Talent.» It probably runs a half-hour longer than it needs to, but when it gets going it doesn’t fall short of delivering a story of friendship and determination, while reminding us that bullies are often the most cowardly of any group.
